Chandrapur
Chandrapur city is located on south central region of India in Maharashtra
state. Population oo this city has approximately 3.75 lakhs. This city located 150
km from Nagpur, which is two and a half hours' journey by rail on Delhi-Madras
route via Nagpur. Nearest airport of this city is at Sonegaon (140 km) from the city. Ramala Talav Garden is newly developed place
for all ages, especially for kids. Sri Mahakali Temple, Jain Temple at
Bhadrawati, and Somnath are famous worship places of this city This city Having
Super Thermal Power Station, the largest one in India, Chandrapur city is
enriched with different minerals. Coal, Timbers, Tendu Leaves and other forest
produces are main resources of this region. Summers are very hot and winters
are chilly.

2. Ancient Caves
There are nine ancient caves dating back to the eighth century in Chandrapur.
It is believed that the caves were first carved out somewhere during the 8th
century. Buddhist monks later used these caves. A large number of Buddhist
sculptures can be seen engraved in these caves.

Old name of bhadravati was Bhandak.bhadravati is a is a historical village, situated 130 km
north of Nagpur on Nagpur- Chandrapur road in the Chandrapur district of
Maharashtra. So many temples are located within area of Bhadravati city. ancient Jain temple is popular
renamed as Jain Mandir which belongs
to Shwetamber sect of Jain religion. A new temple, much bigger than the
existing one, was constructed behind the old temple. Other added attractions
at Bhadravati are Ganesh temple located atop Ganesh tekadi at Gavrala; ancient
Bhadrashesh temple popularly known as Nag Mandir bhadravati city is
surrounded by many Industries and coal mines. Asia's largest Ordinance
Factory Chanda (OFC), EMTA coalmines near Baranj are important among them.
One can also found mines at Majri area, Chargaon, New Kunada, Telvasa and
Dhorwasa. Bhadravati is also well known for many schools and colleges. The
famous institutions found in Bhadravati area are Ordinance Factory High
School (OFHS); K.V.O.F. in defence colony; Shri Sai College of Engineering
and Technology; N.S. College of Science; Lokmanya Tilak school; Vivekanand
College; Z.P. high school; Fairyland school etc.

Chandrapur super thermal power station abbrivated as a thermal power plant located in Chandrapur district in the Indian state of Maharashtra.
The power plant is one of the coal based power plants ofMAHAGENCO. The coal for
the power plant is sourced from Durgapur and Padmapur Collieries of Western Coalfields Limited.[1] The plant was officially inaugurated
by the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi on 8 October 1984.[2]
With the total capacity of 2340MW, the
plant is largest power plant in the state of Maharashtra. It accounts to up to
25% of total Maharashtra needs. The plant gets water supply
from Erai Dam when in normal conditions. In the
summer of 2010 due to less water in Erai, the plant also got water from Chargaon Dam.[3]
Government College of Engineering
Chandrapur was established in 1996 This is the only
Government Institute under R.T.M. Nagpur University, Nagpur and Gondwana
University Gadchiroli. First and Second year is affiliated to Gondwana
University Gadchiroli whereas Third and Final year is affiliated to R.T.M.
Nagpur University. This Government institute is completely funded by Government
of Maharashtra. This college is under Director of Technical Education, M.S.,
Mumbai and is administered through its Regional office at Nagpur. Now a days,
due to globalization there is stiff competition at the national &
International level as well phenomenal growth in the technology. For this,
competent technocrats & engineers are in great demand and to serve this
requirement, Government College of Engineering,Chandrapur is taking efforts to
produce high quality technocrats.
Mahakali Mandir in Chandrapur is an icon for people visiting the place. The temple is symbolic to the locals here. Devotes visit Mahakali Mandir every day but Tuesdays are special days to visit the temple to offers prayers. This temple houses a small Ganesha and Hanuman temple inside it. There are two entrances for the temple. The rear entrance has Ganesh and Hanuman temple. Both the entrances have small shops for pooja supplies like coconut, flowers and cloth. There is also Shani temple next to the rear entrance.
There are two idols in the Mahakali Mandir. One standing is the main idol decorated with red, yellow and orange color cloths. The main idol also associated with Shiv Ling. The second is in a reclining position which is actually below the ground level and to reach there, devotes need to walk in kind of a tunnel. Every year there is a fair during the month of April, during that period all devotees from different parts of state visit the temple.
Anad wan located at 5 kilometres from Warora in Chandrapur district in the state of Maharashtra, India, this is known as an ashram, and a community

the disabled from downtrodden sections of society. Anadwan was founded in 1948[1] by noted
social activist, Baba Amte. Baba Amte
developed Anandwan to be a self-contained ashram Residents are self-sufficient
in terms of basic subsistence through agriculture. Baba Amte also shaped
Anandwan as an environmentally aware community to have practices in place for
energy utilization, waste recycling and minimizing usage of natural resources
that might otherwise lead to their depletion.[3]
